Glen was born in BC and spends much of his free time enjoying the outdoors and woodworking. He began carving in the 80’s and living on the west coast saw many different native designs and other ideas to be put to wood. Since then he has enjoyed the unique styles of many traditional and contemporary west coast native artists. He uses yellow cedar for most of his carvings which although soft, shows off a fine detailed polished look. For turning, any kind of wood that he has collected over the years.
Glen and his wife, Dale, moved from North Vancouver to Powell River in 2008 and built a home. With that pretty well finished he is spending more time carving and wood turning, combining carving in both. He is definitely enjoying Powell River with its sea of all sorts of beautiful wood that floats in with each storm and an amazing amount of species and shapes from the local forests along its coast.
