Katie McLean grew up in Vancouver, and has been living in the qathet region for over 25 years. She is constantly inspired by the beauty she sees here, on walks in the forest or around town, in all seasons and weather. (Our rainforest is so vibrant and colourful and alive in the rain!) She primarily creates drawings using pencil crayon, and has recently been playing with watercolour pencils and watercolour on paper and cradled wood panels. She has also been working on doing more with photography, and has been making and selling jewellery since she was a teenager. She loves colour, loves playing around with new mediums, and is currently working on making small drawings to play with new techniques and sell as original art cards. Her goal with her art is to try to express some of the joy she takes in the beauty she sees every day.
