With a background in experimental animation and teaching in his native Montreal and then in Seattle, Giovanni (aka Rabideye) has always worked in multiple media, using his studio as a laboratory for experimental techniques. When not teaching design/animation/interactive design, he works with encaustics, mostly natural pigments and copper on wood panel. The ‘wabi-sabi’ aesthetic is probably the best way to describe his work, highlighting the beauty and acceptance of things transient and impermanent/ ever-changing.
